Loren East

One of the founders, along with his wife Debi, Loren is President and CEO. Loren earned his B.S. in Manufacturing Engineering from Weber State, and made his engineering start at Sperry before forming Salt Lake Cable. Debi now focuses on another family business while Loren has maintained the helm at Salt Lake Cable. Loren’s insightful leadership is evident throughout the business; he has a keen understanding of every major aspect of the company, all built on experience. Beyond Salt Lake Cable, Loren enjoys horses and farming, and it’s not surprising to see his border collie, Bolt, join him at the office occasionally.

Lane Hemsley

Lane joined Salt Lake Cable as Production Manager in 1995, and became General Manager in 2009. A veteran of Unisys in Salt Lake, Lane’s attention to detail and analytical skills are a driving force at Salt Lake Cable. You may see a hint of Lane’s soft side if you see him with his French bulldog, Si, a fixture in the office. When he is not working, Lane pursues his passion for speed at Rocky Mountain Raceway. He won top honors in the 2013 drag race season, and placed 3rd in 2015 in his division. Lane’s also got a bit of a flair for photography – several of the photos on our site are his.

Dirk Hogan

After working in Public Accounting for 21 years, Dirk brought his financial skills to Salt Lake Cable in 1998. He earned his degree in Accounting from Westminster College, and Masters in Finance from Weber State. As CFO, Dirk is an integral member of the leadership team, managing the Accounting and Human Resource functions. When he’s not in the office, Dirk applies his need for perfection to home improvement projects and his golf game, and also enjoys relaxing outdoors.

Merritt Bolton

A native of eastern Utah, Merritt has an Associates degree in Electronics. He enjoyed working in heavy industrial electrical sales before moving to Salt Lake and working for Standard Supply, an electronics distributor. He joined the Salt Lake Cable Sales team in 1999, and services some of our top customers. When you see Merritt with his customers, it’s clear he views them as family – and that they trust his commitment, knowledge and integrity. When he’s not working, Merritt enjoys time with his family, fixing most anything, and volunteering for his church.

Barry Buxton

Barry has a diverse background, including experience in auto service and mortgages before joining Salt Lake Cable in 2008. He attended Salt Lake Community College and Weber State. He found his niche and has earned several promotions at Salt Lake Cable, starting from Inventory, on to wire cut, became a production area supervisor, and assumed Production Manager responsibility in 2015. Barry loves his job and spends a lot of time here; but when he goes home he also loves his animals, which include horses, a Great Dane, poodle, and 6 mini pigs.

Greg Chapman

Greg joined Salt Lake Cable as Sales Manager in 2017, and is bringing new energy to our sales team. Greg spent much of his career in electronics distribution with Avnet, both as an Account Manager and District Manager. Raised in Texas, he attended University of Texas at Dallas. When he’s not working, Greg could be found out on the golf course or at a baseball field, or participating in one of the many fundraising events he and his wife enjoy. He shared his passion for baseball with his sons, and enjoys watching his younger son play college ball. We’re expecting big things from this Texan-at-heart.

Doug Kelso

A southern California native, Doug started his career as an expediter at General Dynamics. He attended Mt. San Antonio College, Ricks College, and Weber State, and managed the purchasing group at HGM/Lumenis prior to joining Salt Lake Cable in 1994. Skilled in supply chain management, planning, and negotiation, Doug’s purchasing team comes through for us time after time. He has extensive knowledge of both Salt Lake Cable’s and our suppliers’ businesses, and long-term relationships throughout the industry. His role is crucial in our ability to provide customers with the best possible service. One of several employees with family members at the company, Doug’s son Justin oversees the potting area for us. Doug’s dog Motley is another fixture at Salt Lake Cable, and while Doug claims the office crew spoils him, we’re fairly certain things don’t change much when Motley goes home. Doug enjoys mountain biking, golf, and Maui to re-charge from work.

Mitch Nukaya

Starting at Salt Lake Cable in 1994, Mitch is an industry and company veteran. Loren and Debi got to know Mitch as he serviced their business for Kimball Electronics, so when they needed to add a person they could trust, Mitch was top of the recruiting list. He has held a few different positions including purchasing and sales, but his passion for his customers’ success and his understanding of our capabilities make him a natural for the Sales team at Salt Lake Cable. Mitch is a die-hard fly fisherman and another adrenaline junkie, and loves to take his RZR off the beaten path whenever he has the chance.

Jim Pino

Jim joined Salt Lake Cable in 2012 to lead our Quality group and document the Quality Management System that led to our ISO9000 and AS9100 certifications in 2014. Jim studied Electronics at Salt Lake Community College and the University of Utah, and has worked in a variety of Engineering and Quality positions with companies including L-3, Clearone Communications, Evans & Sutherland, and ITT. Jim loves his job and the outdoors, enjoying hiking, backpacking, and 4-wheeling in both the desert and mountains, and squeezes some woodworking into his spare time. Jim maintains our Quality Management System, and is already looking forward to our re-certification to the latest ISO and AS9100 standards in 2017.

Mike Stanger

Mike took over the leadership of our Manufacturing Engineering group in 2018. His vision for the future combined with the experience he’s gained from working here over the last 20+ years make him an ideal replacement for Doug Hawks, who will be retiring at the end of this year.
