Swing Shift Assembler

An Assembler at SLC&H is responsible for assembling cables and harnesses from start to finish. They prepare wires and cables from written instructions and operate machinery as required. An Assembler ensures that their assigned assembly functions are conducted in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety, and quality standards.

This position requires good organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure that assembly functions and documentation are properly completed. A quality focus and the ability to meet deadlines are also critical to the successful execution of this position.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assumes responsibility for the accurate and timely completion of assembly functions
  • Prepares wires according to written instructions
  • Tins wires using solder pot and iron
  • Apply shrink sleeving and shrink
  • Glues components as required
  • Performs some potting operations
  • Terminates coax connectors
  • Solders and crimps as necessary
  • Installs hardware according to written instructions
  • Keeps work area clean, secure and well-maintained

 

Required Skills

  • Experience with production assembly
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience

  • Understands the principles of IDC tooling machinery

  • Able to use various hand tools and termination presses
  • IPC/WHMA-a-620 and IPC J-STD-001 certification

 

Job Type: Full-time from 3:30m to 12:00am.  Part-time work for swing shift may be available.
Salary: $14.00 to $20.00 hour DOE
